The AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program supports self-motivated students by teaching them real-world skills and competencies, informing them about career paths, and providing academic support. Volunteers work with small groups in the classroom to facilitate collaboration and problem-solving skills once a week for approximately 1.5 hours. We are also seeking individuals who are willing to speak to the classes about their career/career paths/education paths or to speak about practical life skills. This is an opportunity to share a personal journey or skill set with the students, and is a one-time commitment.
