New and Need a Tour?
If you are a rising 9th grader or transfer student and have not received a tour, parents and students can join us on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 6:00 PM. This tour is only for CURRENTLY ENROLLED students who need a review of the campus. This is NOT for families that are shopping. Please sign up for a tour during the school year.

2025-2026 RISING 9TH GRADERS / NEW-TO-CMS NIGHT

Rising 9th graders, students new-to-CMS, transfer students, and their parents are invited to join us at MPHS! You do not need to sign-up, just show up!
5:30-6:00 pm – Visit interest tables in the Quad, just outside of the Auditorium!
6:00-7:00 pm – Auditorium Program:
- A visit from JROTCH
- Listen to the MPHS Choir
- Watch the MPHS Dance team
- Hear an informative overview of our academic and program opportunities from administration
- Learn from our MPHS students
- Get up to speed on registration information
Plus, shop at the MPHS Swag Wagon! Get your MP gear! It will be in the Quad and open both before and after the event for shopping! You can also place orders in advance and pick them up that night. https://myersparkswagwagon.com/. Credit card and Apple Pay are accepted. No cash.
Allow extra time to park so that you have ample time to get to the quad. Event is rain or shine. Please note that this is NOT a tour of the school!
Do You Need a Peer Buddy?
Get to know MPHS better! Get more involved! Meet new friends! The Student Government Association (SGA) of MPHS will pair you with a peer buddy, either a rising junior or senior at MP and they will be happy to answer any questions you have about MP or high school in general. Other Important Dates
OPEN CAMPUS DATE
Tuesday, August 20, 2024 – 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Students and their parents are invited to walk the Myers Park High School campus in order of their class schedule, find their classrooms, and meet their teachers. There are three 40-minute slots by last name. If you have a conflict, attend any time slot:
- 4:30 – 5:10 pm: Last name A to H
- 5:10 – 5:50 pm: Last name I to Q
- 5:50 – 6:30 pm: Last Name R to Z
BEFORE you arrive: PowerSchool will open for students and families at the end of the day on Friday, August 16. Download the PowerSchool App. Log-in using district code GJKX, use your school ID and create a password. Locate your schedule. Just in case your cell phone coverage is spotty on campus, take a screenshot of your schedule, print it, or write it down for quick access. If you do not know your school ID, please email Allyson Davis, kathryn.davis@cms.k12.nc.us.
Students with scheduling errors are asked to complete the 2024 – 2025 MPHS Schedule Change Request Form. The form will open on Wednesday, August 21. The form will completely CLOSE on Thursday, August 29. REMINDER: Students should complete the form ONLY if they are requesting a schedule change from one of the indicated reasons in the drop-down menu. Please DO NOT email the individual counselors or complete the form multiple times. The process of changing schedules will be delayed due to Counselors reviewing emails and/or reviewing multiple entries for the same request.
When you arrive to MPHS:
- Parking: Campus Map and Parking Guideline PDF.
- Look for tables set up in the front circle, the back parking lot off Runnymede or in the Quad to pick up the MPHS 411 flyer & an MPHS Campus Map!
- During the event, use the map to walk your Semester 1 schedule in order from START to FINISH. Go to Homeroom first, then Block 1, Block 2, Block 3, and Block 4. If you have A-Day/B-Day classes, be sure to visit both!
- Find your classroom inside each building. Meet your teacher!
- Bring a credit card or cash: Kona Ice and The Taco Truck will be in the front circle. MPHS SWAG Wagon will be selling gear in the quad.
Need more help?
- If you cannot access PowerSchool, have no schedule, or have major holes in your schedule, please go to the front office to see a member of Student Services. No class changes are made during Open Campus. All concerns will need to be addressed via the Schedule Change Google Form which will be available on August 21st.
- For assistance with translation for families, go to the front circle.

Athletic Information
- Wednesday, June 12, 2024, 7:30 AM – Football Summer Workouts
- Monday July 1, 2024 to Friday July 5, 2024 and Monday July 15, 2024 to Friday July 19, 2024 – Sports Dead Periods (no workouts).
- Wednesday July 31, 2024, AM – Fall Sports Tryouts. Summer workouts & tryout information will be posted on team pages on MPHS Athletic Zone. Student athletes will need to complete all eligibility paperwork in DragonFly. Fall sports: Cheerleading, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Women’s Golf, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Tennis, and Volleyball.
- Thursday, August 22, 2024, 4:00 PM – MPHS Varsity Football Season-Opener. Keep Pounding Classic at the Bank of America Stadium. Independence Patriots vs. Myers Park Mustangs.
- Wednesday, October 30, 2024 – The first day of Winter Tryouts. Student athletes wanting to participate in a Winter Sport must complete all forms by October 18, 2024. Winter sports: Basketball, Indoor Track, Swimming and Diving, Wrestling.
- Wednesday, February 12, 2025 – The first day of Spring Tryouts. Student athletes wanting to participate in a Spring Sport must complete all forms by January 31, 2025. Spring Sports: Men’s Golf, Men’s Tennis, Track, Lacrosse, Women’s Soccer, Softball, Baseball.
